Apr 20, 2020 · Lowrance units don't act like computers, they don't automatically reboot each time you re-start them, they just turn on where they left off. For those of you that do not know about this, do a soft reboot (won't hurt to do it once a year to tidy things up).

Ive used this combo for years and it works great for me, the lowrance is solely a gps and as my eyesight isnt as good as it was the only change i would make would be to get a larger screen for the gps maybe a 7 or 8 inch , but still a lowrance as i reckon they still make the best gps.

The reason is they use Lowrance to to pre-run and mark the route. The gps files are put on a card that you can load easily onto the Lowrance gps. I do not believe you can convert the gps format from Lowrance to another gps. If there is an issue they are familiar with the units. I have a lowrance hds 7 gen III on my 2016 outback and my buddy has the elite 7ti on his outback. I love my lowrance hds, however the elite 7ti is pretty much the same thing minus a few boat features you would never use on a kayak and it is half the price. They told me the trolling motor update is a Lowrance problem and there isn’t an actual update... So my lowrance will recognize the othe devices on the network but not the MG. I will post some pics later today. On one of the other post (on the forum talked about above) a guy said he was going on a Baja mexico trip and the guide required a Lowrance to be able to go. The chart plotter works well and is easy to see while driving I like having mine in the car.My lowrance does the same thing with the 1-5' depth reading, but it seems to have no external cause.
